After a brief dip in 2023, the guitar industry is surging back—especially in the acoustic category.
Recent data from NAMM shows a 14% year-over-year increase in acoustic guitar sales, driven by younger players and social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
“Fingerstyle and open tuning tutorials are exploding online,” said one retailer. “Teenagers are gravitating toward acoustics for their authenticity and songwriting flexibility.”
Meanwhile, electric sales are also rising, though more modestly, as brands like Ibanez and PRS target bedroom producers and genre-hopping artists.
