This was undone and subsequently redone correctly.
This amp suffered from an imbalance in gain distribution, resulting in an overly saturated, flat, and tubby sound that lacked character and responsiveness. The circuit topology was carefully evaluated, and strategic adjustments were made to evenly distribute slight gain increments throughout the signal path. This transformation provided a more dynamic tonal range, delivering extra “chunk” and punch when cranked for high-gain settings.
Equally important, these adjustments improved the amp’s ability to clean up beautifully when the guitar’s volume control is rolled down, offering players greater versatility and control over their sound. This project showcases how thoughtful circuit tuning can unlock an amp’s true potential, creating a richer and more expressive playing experience.
